We only get 5 days of muzzleloader before regular season starts. I work Monday-Friday so those days are useless to me. I wish we had a longer season for it, but can't justify buying a ML when I can't even use it the 5 days we have.

I always saved a day for ML season back when it started on a Monday here. We did have our birthday off with pay, and I would usually take it on opening day of ML, and maybe a vac day with it if I felt lucky. ;)

I don`t know what it is about muzzy load season but I truly love it. Maybe it`s because it`s the start of deer season for us old codgers that don`t bow hunt any more. Maybe it`s because you only get one shot Maybe it`s just the time of the year. I don`t know maybe it`s a combination of all these things.

All those things ct, and I'll add that it's the start of pre rut in my area, well, the last week of bow and into ML season it anyway, and it's the first chance to get that long distance reach just in case an ol biggun shows himself, otherwise jes a lot of cussin' and fussin' about not being able to reach him! :D

I don't typically get days off at work. We have set vacations during plant shutdown for maintenance and major holidays. Other than that, I have to work every day. One of the many drawbacks of my job. I did take a day off last year and took my daughter hunting because she missed the youth hunt. First day I've taken off besides regular vacation in 14 years. She made it worth my time by killing a deer

My step-dad passed it down to me when he got tired of hunting--had it for 10yrs or so. It throws an awesome pattern and the dirtier/more fouled the barrel is the better it shoots. I shot a cloverleaf group at 100yds on the 9th,10th and 11th without swabbing once.

I'm having a problem uploading them so I had to go the photobucket route. Anyway, here is what I use when the rare times I don't use my bow.
